Korea raises data breach fines to 10% of revenue
Korea has increased its data breach fines to 10% of a company's revenue, a significant increase from the previous 1% of revenue, to strengthen its data protection laws. The change is aimed at deterring companies from mishandling sensitive customer data. The new law also requires companies to report data breaches within 24 hours of discovery and to conduct regular security audits.
