Rate limits on GitLab.com are changing
GitLab.com will introduce new rate limits on its website and API starting January 1, 2026. The changes will affect both free and paid users. The new limits will be based on the authentication method used. Users authenticated via OAuth will have a limit of 60 requests per minute, while users authenticated via personal access tokens will have a limit of 500 requests per minute. Users authenticated via their username and password will have the most restrictive limit, with a maximum of 10 requests per minute. The new rate limits will not affect CI/CD pipelines and Git repository data.
