Texas judge rules TikTok misled users on child safety feature

A Texas judge has ruled that TikTok misled users about a feature designed to protect children from online predators. The feature, called 'Account Creation Tool for Parents', was found to have failed to protect minors from online predators and instead allowed them to circumvent the tool. The court found that TikTok's failure to disclose this flaw constituted a breach of its contract with users. The ruling comes as part of a class-action lawsuit filed in 2020.
