Oracle tries to appease Stargate data center opponents with renewables push
Oracle has announced a pledge to use 100% renewable energy in its operations by 2025, in an effort to address concerns from local residents about a proposed data center in Stargate, Idaho. However, the company has clarified that this pledge does not apply to the Stargate data center, which will still use gas for power. Oracle has stated that the data center will be designed to be 'energy-efficient' and have a 'redundant power system' to minimize its environmental impact.
