LinkedIn wins court order blocking mass scraping of user data

LinkedIn has secured a court order blocking a company called HiQ Labs from scraping user data from its platform. The court ruled that LinkedIn's terms of service prohibit scraping, and that HiQ Labs' actions constituted a breach of contract. HiQ Labs had been collecting LinkedIn user data to build a competing product, and LinkedIn argued that this was a misuse of its data.
