The newest ESP32 can run Linux and it's getting close to a Raspberry Pi

Espressif Systems has released the ESP32-S3, a new chip that can run a Linux-based operating system and is comparable in performance to the Raspberry Pi. The ESP32-S3 is built on the ESP32 architecture and features a dual-core 32-bit RISC-V CPU, 512 KB of SRAM, and a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 module. The chip is designed for IoT applications and can be used in a variety of devices, including smart home appliances, wearables, and industrial control systems. The ESP32-S3 can run Linux distributions such as Espressif's own ESP-IDF and also supports other popular Linux distributions like Ubuntu and Debian. The chip's performance is similar to that of the Raspberry Pi 3A+ and is capable of running a full-fledged Linux OS with ease.
