Americans' Drinking Remains at Record Low: Gallup Poll

According to a Gallup poll, the percentage of Americans who drink alcohol has remained at a record low, with 66% of adults reporting having a drink in the past 30 days. This is down from 71% in 2019 and 58% in 2006. The poll also found that 14% of Americans reported not drinking at all in the past year, up from 12% in 2019 and 7% in2006. The data also shows that the percentage of adults who drink heavily has also decreased, with 4.4% of adults reporting binge drinking in the past 30 days, down from 5.4% in 2019 and 6.1% in 2006. The poll was conducted from January 1 to January 31, 2023, with a sample size of 16,055 adults.
