Activision is taking over Halo as part of a massive Xbox shake-up

Microsoft is undergoing a major restructuring of its Xbox studios, involving the sale of some franchises to Activision and layoffs of around 268 Xbox employees. Activision will be taking over the Halo and Sea of Thieves franchises, as well as Age of Empires. This move comes after Microsoft laid off 1,600 Xbox employees and sold off other studios in previous months.
