JetBrains Air: A System of Products for Agentic Software Development

JetBrains has introduced JetBrains Air, a suite of tools designed to support agentic software development. This system aims to help developers build more autonomous systems by providing a set of tools for modeling, designing, and implementing AI-powered agents. The suite includes a visual modeling tool for creating agent designs, a code editor for writing agent code, and a testing framework for verifying agent behavior. The tools are based on a new programming language called Agent-Oriented Programming (AOP) Language, which is designed to support the development of autonomous agents. The AOP language is a DSL (domain-specific language) specifically tailored for building agents, allowing developers to focus on the logic of the agent without worrying about the underlying implementation. The suite is currently in an early access phase and is available for download on the JetBrains website. The company plans to continue developing and refining the tools based on feedback from early adopters.
