Can gzip be a language model?

Nathan Lachenauer explores the possibility of a Gzip model, a language model that generates text by compressing and decompressing data. The model is trained on a dataset of text, and then uses a combination of Gzip compression and decompression algorithms to generate new text. This approach is similar to other language models, but uses the compression algorithm to learn patterns and relationships in the data, rather than relying on traditional machine learning techniques.
