A cut cable disrupted hundreds of flights across the US

A Verizon fiber cable used for air traffic control was accidentally cut by construction crews in New Jersey, causing hundreds of flights to be cancelled or delayed. The outage affected airports across the Northeast and was caused by a circuit failure. The FAA Administrator, Bryan Bedford, was involved in the response.
